Low Tunnel Films

Polyethylene (PE) low tunnel films manufactured through co-extrusion technology are suitable for manual and/or mechanical laying, providing short-term protection for crops to start cultivation season earlier by safeguarding them against outside weather.

The customized PE film is optimized for optical and mechanical properties to adjust to the geographic location, microclimatic conditions, and plant growth requirements. Additionally, the film can withstand daily manual maneuvers required for ventilation purposes.

These films are also commonly known as crop covers, mini tunnel films, low tunnel greenhouse films, miniature greenhouse films, plastic sheeting for mid-size tunnels, plastic sheets for quick hoops, low tunnel plastic covers, tunnel plastic sheets, plastic row covers, and polyethylene sheeting for crop coverage.

Thermal low tunnel film, available with or without light diffusion, is manufactured using advanced raw materials and additives, including EVA (Ethyl Vinyl Acetate) co-polymer, to block Infrared (IR) radiation. The film's composition has a higher effect on the FAR IR radiation reflected by the soil during nighttime.

Moreover, IR additives are added to block IR sun radiations, which have a higher effect on preserving NIR (Near Infrared) radiation coming from the sun during daytime.

The regular low tunnel films are manufactured using advanced technology and specialized raw materials and additives to protect crops from harsh climatic conditions such as wind, rain, hail, and frost, while promoting plant harvesting.

Depending on the specific application requirements, these films can be provided in either high transparent clear film with a light transmission of over 90%, or in diffused options ranging from 35% to 45%.
