Machine stretch film

Stretch film, also known as stretch wrap, is a plastic film made from virgin linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE). The film is co-extruded, making it highly stretchable and able to tightly secure, bundle, and stabilize products.

When applying stretch film, it should be pulled and stretched around the products to obtain a tight and secure product load. The elastic recovery of the film keeps the items tightly bound together, providing protection during storage and transit.

Machine stretch films are commonly used for both conventional automatic fast wrapping and semi-automatic pallet wrapping. In the automatic pallet wrapping process, the load to be wrapped is placed on a turntable that rotates the load relative to the film roll. The film roll is housed in a carriage that can move up and down a fixed mast. Stretch is achieved by rotating the load at a faster rate than the film is fed.

One of the benefits of using machine stretch films is their high stretchability, which can range up to 350% on automatic pallet wrapping machines. This helps to reduce material cost and film waste. Additionally, modern automatic pallet wrapping machines are designed to operate with low noise levels, making them suitable for use in various settings.
