Manual stretch Film
Stretch film, also known as stretch wrap, is a plastic film made from virgin linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE). The film is co-extruded, making it highly stretchable and able to tightly secure, bundle, and stabilize products.
When applying stretch film, it should be pulled and stretched around the products to obtain a tight and secure product load. The elastic recovery of the film keeps the items tightly bound together, providing protection during storage and transit.
Stretch film is available in a wide range of specifications, sizes, and colors, making it a versatile packaging material for various industries.
Stretch films are commonly used for wrapping pallets and jumbo rolls either manually or mechanically on-site. Using light and short rolls of manual stretch film makes it easy to wrap pallets, while ensuring long-term load retention and tight load stability for safe storage and transit of goods.
However, this type of manual stretch film wrapper lacks stretch control and can be strenuous on the hands. An alternative option is the mechanical brake stretch wrapper system, which is a simple structure that supports a film roll and has a mechanical brake that creates resistance to turning, stretching the film as it is dispensed. This provides greater control over the amount of stretch applied, and reduces strain on the hands.
The different names for stretch films include manual stretch wrappers, stretch wrap, hand stretch wrap film, and bundling film.
